Summer is the best.

Summertime is full of all of the best things, and barbecuing with good friends is on the top of my list!

 I played in the Idaho Falls Country Club 

Ladies Member Guest with my Mom a couple weeks ago!

I am so proud of my mom.  She has been playing so much golf to get ready for this tournament.  She has been practicing so hard.  Every time I talk to her she is on her way to the golf course or on her way home for playing golf!

We played a practice round on Wednesday and Thursday and we played pretty well.  We worked on practicing the different formats that we will play in the tournament.  Chapman, Scramble and Best Ball.

 After the first day on Friday, we thought we played pretty well.  I hit good shots and when I didn't, my mom did.  She made some great putts and I was hitting my irons well.  We made a great team.  When we went and checked the scoreboard... we were surprised to see we were in the LEAD!

That afternoon we competed in the putting contest and we took 2nd place!

That night my mom was so nervous.  I was trying to calm her down so she would be able to sleep.  

When we got to the course on Saturday morning, we felt like everyone was watching us and talking about us because we had played so good the first day.  We started out alright on Saturday, we had a few goofy holes but played pretty consistent the whole day.

We came up the 18th hole and made a birdie to finish the round!

.... and WE WON!

1st place Net Champs 

$500 prize money

and a $100 jewelry gift card

This was so fun, I am so glad that my mom loves golf and she worked so hard to get ready for the tournament.  Thanks mom!  

Next step: LPGA  :)

fourth of july {IF style}

 The 4th of july in Idaho Falls is my favorite!  What could be better... golf, barbecue, fireworks and homemade ice cream!

We started out by playing in the Flag Tournament.  

Everyone gets little flags and so many strokes, according to your handicap, and you play until you run out of shots!

Jake and I, my brother Chris and my Mom played this year.

 This is were I planted my flag, on the fairway on #2!  

I made it through 18 holes with 4 shots left over, I got a birdie on #1 and teed off on #2.

 My own mom!!

Way to go momma, she was just a few yards ahead of me!

We had a fabulous barbecue that evening with hamburgers, red potato salad and fresh fruit, for dessert... homemade coconut ice cream.  It was delicious and fun to spend the time with my family.

 We went down to the river to watch the fireworks, lucky Logan with all the ladies.
