pop

School has begun and it seems like this will be the most craziest busiest semester of grad school yet.  I won't go into the boring details, but we have SO MUCH TO DO!  I really don't understand how it is all going to get accomplished, but we are 3 weeks into it and still chugging along.  This is our adult semester and it will hopefully prepare us for our clinical internship this summer... like actual people that we will have to treat... right now that sound terrifying.  I hope we learn a lot.

Other news... To relieve my stress from school, I have been playing volleyball every week.  It is so amazing and fun to play again, i love it.  A big shout out to my good friend Kelsie for inviting me and all the cool kids that let me play :)

Also, Jake and I have been playing on an indoor co-ed soccer team, which has been fun except for this last game.......

I had a run in with a fellow and he kind of knocked me over and i caught myself with my right leg, except my knee didn't support me, I heard and felt a big pop and it gave out.

Bad news.  and it hurt like crap.

I asked one of the PT professors at school to look at it yesterday, and he did a few tests and his conclusion was a torn ACL.  So... I am going to the doctor on friday with hope for a miracle.  As of then I will be hobbling around on crutches trying to finish assignments and not go crazy because I can't do anything.

So pray for a miracle, because there is no way I can fit surgery into my life right now.

goodbye 2011... hello 2012

Happy New Year!

2011... what a year!

Grad school seemed to kick my butt more than once, but I love it.  4 semesters down...

Jake graduated from college and started a new job at Hotel Monaco.

We were able to enjoy lots of fun times with family... in San Diego, Ferron, and Huntsman Springs.

My mom and I kicked butt at the Ladies Member guest golf tournament. Champs!

We planted our own garden and were quite successful for first timers.

We are still very fortunate to be living in our house, and even with its many quirks, we love it.

We have loved living in Salt Lake, with many new adventures and new friends!

We rung in the new year, not in New York or LA or even Australia...
in Idaho Falls!

We had quite the night...

we drank some bubbly

and wore funny hats

and played games

and almost taught my dad the "party rock anthem" dance...

Hope everyone had a fabulous time ringing in the New Year!

2012 be good to me... deal?

A Very Merry Christmas in Logan

Christmas was busy and full of parties for us this year.

We drove up to Logan on Friday for a Larsen Christmas party.
We had food, presents and ugly sweaters.

Cute little Estee

Some of the ugly sweaters in the competition....

I, of course, had the ugliest sweater.
I won the contest with no vote needed.
When my nephew Camden saw me in my sweater he exclaimed, "Hey, that's the sweater from the Grinch!"

pretty close Cam...

Christmas Eve we partied with the Cowan family in Salt Lake... with more food and fun.

We drove back to Logan to spend Christmas with Jake's family.  Christmas morning we went to church and listened to a beautiful Christmas music program.  It was a great was to spend the morning, Christmas music is one of my most favorite things about Christmas.

Camden came home from church and was so excited, he couldn't wait to open presents!

We gave Cam a marshmallow shooter.

Santa gave him Socker Boppers... awesome.
Just put them on your hands and punch each other.  Camden and I have a pretty good fight.

I got a few fun things... including these adorable mugs from anthropologie and a coat.

A new Christmas coat from my mom :)

Jake gave me a backpacking backpack and sleeping mat.  I am excited, but wondering if that gift was more for him than for me?

I am really excited and thankful for new snowboarding boots... now some snow please?

We also both get to pick out a new pair of glasses!
These are the ones that i chose.

Jake goat new office chair, a toolbox, a new watch, slippers, and some cool camping accessories.

The day after Christmas we went bowling.
and guess who beat me... Camden!

We had a fabulous Christmas with lots of family time.  We even got to video chat with my parents who spent Christmas in Arizona playing golf in the sun.

Merry Christmas!
