We had a fabulous getaway to Idaho Falls over Easter weekend. It was just what I needed in the midst of studying for finals and completing all of my end of the semester stuff. We had a lot to celebrate. Easter, Jake's birthday and his graduation! My parents have to work on the day of his actual graduation so we decided to celebrate it early!
We went to dinner on Friday night at the Idaho Falls Country Club to celebrate Jake's birthday. I had the most delicious meal. Salmon with Mango Cilantro Salsa. It was probably the best salmon I have ever eaten. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it.... mmmmmm. Jake had prime rib, which he loves, and since I never cook anything like that, he loved it.
Saturday morning we went to the gym, sat in the hot tub, and then I had a glorious massage. It was heavenly. I would recommend it to anyone with any stress in their life... so pretty much anyone :)
That afternoon we played some golf. The first round of the year is always a little rough, but I was impressed. My dad played great, as usual. My mom was hitting some awesome shots. I surprised myself, not too shabby after a long winter. Jake played great! It was the best I have seen him play, this summer is going to be a good one!
That night we made fish tacos, I will have to post the recipe, it was divine. We watched Tangled and had some yummy ice cream for dessert.
Easter Sunday we found an Easter basket full of very useful things... contact solution, shaving cream, face wash, body lotion, deodorant, and many other needed items!
For his birthday, Jake was surprised with Kenny Chesney tickets hidden in a box of golf balls!
(it took a few attempts to find the tickets!)
We had a delicious Easter dinner with Fine Corinthian Ham, creamy potatoes, deviled eggs, spinach salad and fresh fruit. It was so beautiful I should have taken a picture!
We also visited my Grandpa Harker who was having a surprise 80th birthday party that night! I wish we could have stayed for the party but we had to get on the road. I love my sweet grandpa!
Monday night back in Salt Lake for FHE we colored Easter eggs, we didn't have time while we were up in Idaho Falls, too many other celebrations going on!
We used electrical tape to make designs on the eggs before dipping them.
Here are the beautiful eggs, more like works of art!
I am like a kid in a candy store, I love decorating Easter eggs!
I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend with family and loved ones.
My semester is winding down, I have two more finals left (which I should be studying for) and then I get a week and a half off until summer school starts!
Jake has one more paper to write in his college career! That is exciting news!
Until next week, I will be a much happier girl.
Wish me luck on my COMPREHENSIVE neuroanatomy final exam....
