Good ol' Family Reunion

When I think of a family reunion, I usually thing.... ugh. Jake told me that we were going to stay in a hunting lodge somewhere by Firth, ID. Hmmm.... ugh. Firth is a little town between Blackfoot and Idaho Falls, not the most thrilling place :). I didn't really know what to expect.

I had no that the lodge would look like this,

And the view like this,

It was such a blast! I had no idea that it was so beautiful and green back in those hills. There were so many things to do and tons of fun people to get to know. I get pretty nervous when I'm around people I don't know very well but Jake's family is SOOO nice! It was so fun to be around them.

His cousin Chase took us on a horseback ride. It was so gorgeous, I had a nice horse named Snickers :) Jake's was Flint. We even got to watch the sunset, a perfect evening.

The next day, the boys had a paintball war! The girls stayed around and we made adorable watch bracelets, and hung out with all the cute little ones. All of his aunts are the sweetest ladies!

Thanks for the FUN family reunion! I will always be excited for family reunions from now on!!! I can't wait til next year!!

Date Night

We try to have a date night every Friday night to keep the spice in our relationship. Haha... I seem to just want to stay home and relax, so we try to get out and do something fun together. This Friday was a WAY SWEET date. I'm not going to lie, if I wasn't married to Jake and already very impressed with his awesomeness, this would have done me in!! First, we went to dinner, and it was fabulous, then we went FLYING! We went on a double date with his friend Aaron, who has his pilots license! We flew around Logan in this little bitty plane!

It was so fun to see everything from up in the sky. We found our house and other landmarks around. The temple looked very pretty. We saw the beginnings of a corn maze. We thought about writing down all the directions so we could cruise through the maze in record time this fall. We'll see :)

The mountains and hillsides were all so green. It was beautiful. We had a little tour of cache valley from the sky and watched the sunset. It was pretty romantic :)

What a cool thing to be able to do! It was really a blast and I wasn't even too scared, except when Aaron let his date fly the plane for a few minutes..... By the look on her face you can tell she wasn't too excited!!

After our little flight, we headed up to the top of Mt Logan to have a fire and make smores!

Jake and I take smore making pretty serious and we pride ourselves in how delicious they are. We have a secret ingredient that makes them to die for.....

PEANUT BUTTER! Yes, kinda like a recess peanut butter cup with a little crispy graham and gooey mallow, don't judge until you've had one! They are SOOOO good!

There were no clouds in the sky and not too many trees around so the stars were spectacular. We sat and watched a ton of shooting stars! Also, very romantic. I love looking at the stars. I don't do it enough.

Jake gets an A++ for this date, and he would have won me over! I'm so glad he's my husband!!!!!!!

Cute Nephews

I have the cutest nephews. I know you all probably think your nephews are the cutest but I am here to prove that mine win.....

Here is Logan, he is 6 months old and he lives in Boise. He has just recently discovered there is more to the world that just milk.

These green veggies are not his favorite....

Another thing he has discovered in the summer months is he loves to swim... mostly he just chills rather that swims but he's still so cute....

He is just so adorable, his big blue eyes and his cute ears, little button nose and I miss him! He lives too far away so I don't get to see him very often but when I do, I LOVE it!

And this is Camden, he turned 2 in April, he has lived in St George until recently he moved to Logan. So now I get to see him ALL the time!

His favorite thing to do is ride his little 4-wheeler, dad's motorcycle, or grandpa's tote goat. Anything with wheels really....

He is just a sweet little boy, and he is ALL boy. He loves to play outside with any kind of ball. When we were camping he didn't even want to stop and eat he was having so much fun playing outside in the dirt! And he cleans up really nice....

So my nephews are the cutest, what can I say, I have a good-looking family :)

Ferron... & my Favorite 4th

Camping with the Larsen's is always a blast! Last week we went down to central Utah to Ferron Reservoir to camp for a few day with some of Jake's family. It was ALOT of fun. There was so much to do and we did it all.

We went on bike rides...

and 4-wheeler rides...

We hiked mountains...

and fished...

We played with Camden...

had tons of fun...

and showered :)....

On Saturday morning, the 4th, we packed up camp and drove all the way up to Idaho Falls for the spectacular FIREWORKS!!! The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. It was definitely worth the all day drive. Seriously, Idaho Falls has the best firework show, it is 30-35 minutes of straight fireworks synchronized to awesome music! This year the music was especially good. Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, Louis Armstrong, Rodney Adkins, Beach Boys.... just to name a few. SO GOOD!!!

And another thing... Can you believe this? Jake and I got engaged one year ago!! He proposed to me last year in Idaho Falls over the 4th of July weekend! What a sweet memory to add to my favorite holiday!
