My first backpacking trip to the beautiful white pine lake in Logan canyon.
We packed up our backpacks for a two night adventure!
We parked our car at Tony Grove Lake and hiked just over 4 miles in to White Pine. There were a lot of day hikers but only a couple other people backpacking in.
The hike in was pretty nice, the weather was perfect and we were enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Over the river and through the trees...
We made it to White Pine Lake! It was so quite and peaceful.
I could have sat here all day and looked out at the beautiful lake....
but we had to eat :)
For lunch we had rice cakes with tunafish and avocado...
mine was just avocado with a little salt :)
We set up camp just in time for a little rain storm.
After the storm we went back to sit by the lake.
I love being outside listening to all the noises of nature.
Dinner was a mountain house gluten-free vegan pad tai!
That night we heard coyotes... scariest noise I have ever heard. It sounded like they were right by our camp, but the noise was just echoing off the cliffs around the lake. So terrifying!
The next morning was gorgeous.
We hiked around the other side of the lake.
We took some fun pictures and decided we must come back!
Jake is packing up the last of camp on the day we were leaving.
Ready to go!
We made it back to Tony Grove. Such a fun experience! We will definitely be taking more backpacking trips in the future.
